In 2021, Apple accounts for 15% of the market share, whereas Samsung holds around, an unexpected 18%. Yes, that’s more than Apple’s market share.
This is not it, because Apple also has products such as the iMac, MacBook, and many more. But, let's concentrate on smartphones for the moment.

Apple has a clear target; premium high-end phones, luxury, reliability, but, it usually comes with a high price tag. High price tags are something some countries don't appreciate, and others say otherwise. Countries like India, for example, where people cannot afford to buy phones with high price tags, usually depend on other low-end smartphones brands with cheaper prices. That’s where Samsung comes into play. It offers both high-end and low-end phones, making it highly relevant. But that’s not where things end. Apple is trying to make low-end phones and let’s just say, their first low-end phone got the “phone of the year” award! But in this category we will have to give it to Samsung, as they offer a wide variety of price ranges.

Price is something that doesn’t matter for some customers, as they are looking for the best of the best to get their job done with light speed. That raises the question, who offers the best? In my opinion Apple has the best smartphones on the market, and I’ll tell you why. See some users tend to look at the appearance, build, and some other factors, and Apple smartphones, check all of these factors that the users are looking for. From the elegant design to even the smoothest transition while opening their package box. So in my opinion, Apple gets the win here.

Which one has the best reviews? I've seen a lot of reviews where if there is a new Apple smartphone, it usually gets compared to a Samsung smartphone. Nevertheless, a few years ago, Samsung smartphones were failing miserably, but now times have changed. Samsung offers one of the best "Android" driven phones on the market and so does Apple offer the best "smartphones" on the market. But, by taking the average of god and bad reviews over the years, Apple wins! Samsung's S20 flagship phone had a major problem where the camera was not able to focus properly, which drove customers insane and also a few years ago Samsung phones were exploding! Clearly, Apple gets the win here.

The Smartphone market is complex. Competition is everywhere. For now Samsung's competitor(s) is Apple, as it stands strong amongst other brands like Xiomi, BBK electronics etc. But for Apple it's going to be hard and easy at the same time. In some places like I said, people look at the price tag and other take into consideration on privacy and some other important aspects. There are a lot of countries that are banning Chinese phones, which is going to make it easy for Apple, and at the same time there are some countries, the Chinese smartphone market is booming. As of now it's unclear as to how will get the majority of the market share, but it is going to be either Samsung or Apple.
